1893: The Beginning
Founded by British expats in the consulate building (Via Palestro), it was originally a cricket club. They introduced football to Italy.
- The Colors: Red and Blue.
- The Symbol: The Griffin (Il Grifone), symbol of the city.
The Rivalry
The city is split in two: Genoa (center/old town roots) and Sampdoria (born later, 1946). The "Derby della Lanterna" is one of the most passionate in Europe.
