Visit Boccadasse using the City Sightseeing bus. A guide to Genoa's most picturesque fishing hamlet, beach, and gelato spots.

Imagine the colorful villages of the Cinque Terre, but without the train journey. That is Boccadasse. Often featured on the cover of guidebooks, this ancient fishing hamlet was once separate from the city. As Genoa expanded, it swallowed the village, yet Boccadasse remained miraculously unchanged.
The pastel-colored houses tumble down to a small pebble beach, wooden fishing boats are pulled up on the shore, and the smell of salt and fried fish fills the air. It is the most romantic spot in Genoa.
This stop is a highlight of the Red Line.
The beauty of this place is that there isn't much to "do" except enjoy life.
The small bay has a pebble beach freely accessible to everyone. On sunny days (even in winter!), you will find locals sunbathing on the rocks.
It is a local rite of passage to buy a cone and eat it sitting on the beach.
As the sun sets, the little bars facing the bay fill up. Grab a Spritz or a glass of local white wine (Vermentino) and watch the sky turn pink.
Besides gelato, Boccadasse is famous for street food.
Late afternoon/Sunset. The west-facing position means the village is bathed in golden light at the end of the day, making the red and yellow facades glow.
